What our underwriters look for in an application

A clear purpose, a repayment that fits the turnover and a business that has been here before. Here is the rest.

Every Lendly application is taken by a named underwriter.

The purpose

A sentence or two that explains what the money buys and how it earns its keep is worth more than any spreadsheet.

The numbers

We look at repayment as a share of turnover, the sector's seasonality and any earlier loans with us.

The decision

The underwriter can approve as asked, offer a smaller amount, a different term or a lower band, or decline with a reason you can read in your account.
